Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and send back on your next visit. Browsers also have local storage, which works the same way except the website has to read it itself and it is not sent along automatically. We use a little of both and list every item below.

Both are strictly necessary: sign-in does not work without them. We set them only when you sign in or start signing in. Neither is shared with another company.

These sit in your browser’s local storage, on your device. The only one that sends us anything is the install count, and what it sends is anonymous.

• No advertising cookies.
• No analytics or visitor tracking from other companies, such as Google Analytics or Facebook pixels.
• No cookies that follow you to other websites.

So the notice you see on your first visit tells you what we use and asks for nothing. If we ever add a cookie that is not needed to run the service, we will ask for your permission before setting it and update this page first.

Three companies can set their own cookies, and only when you use the part of PinKenya that needs them.

• Daily runs the video room. It loads when you press Join on a consultation, and Daily’s own privacy policy covers what it keeps for the call.
• Paystack takes payment. Paying moves you to Paystack’s own page, where its cookies apply.
• Google handles Continue with Google. That happens on Google’s own sign-in page, under Google’s cookie rules.

Each one is listed with what it sees in section 5 of our privacy notice.

You can delete cookies and site data at any time from your browser’s settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings.

• Clearing the sign-in cookie signs you out. Blocking it stops you signing in at all.
• Clearing local storage resets dark mode and brings back the home screen card and the cookie notice.
• Blocking site data for PinKenya also stops the install count: with nowhere to keep its flag, your device sends nothing.

The install count holds nothing that points to you, so there is no record of yours to find or delete. Anything else we hold about you is covered by your rights in our privacy notice.
