Nobody goes up until a person has checked them
Every provider on PinKenya is checked by a PinKenya admin before their profile is visible. Here is what we look at, what the badge means, and how to check any of it yourself.

This is the badge. It sits under the photograph, on the listing and on the profile.
What we check before a profile goes live
Who they are
A national ID or passport, and the name on it has to match the name on the profile.
That they are allowed to practise
A current practising licence from the council that governs their field, checked against that council’s own register.
Where they work
A hospital or clinic that confirms them, or proof that they practise independently.
What they say they do
The specialty on the profile has to match the one they are registered for.
A profile that fails any of these does not go up. We do not publish a provider and check later.
What the badge means
A PinKenya admin has seen the documents above and confirmed the registration against the council’s own register.
What it does not mean
It does not rate anyone. It says nothing about how good a provider is, only that they are who they say they are and are licensed to do the work. Quality is a separate thing, and we do not show a star rating until a provider has had enough real contacts for it to mean something.
Where it actually stands today
We would rather show you the real numbers than imply a finished process.

- published doctors and nurses carry the verified badge. The rest were reviewed and approved by an admin before going live, but their licence check has not been recorded against the profile yet, so no badge is shown.

Providers cannot upload licence documents through the site yet. Verification is done by hand from documents sent to PinKenya directly. The upload and re-check flow is being built, and this page will change when it lands.
NUBEK is not a licence
Biomedical engineers are a different case, and we do not want the badge misread. The National Union of Biomedical Engineers of Kenya is a trade union, not a statutory licensing council. A NUBEK number confirms the person is a member of their professional body. It is not a practising licence and we do not present it as one.
For engineers we also check identity, and their work history and references where the job calls for it.
Check them yourself
You do not have to take our word for any of this. Every council below publishes a register you can search for free.

If a provider’s registration does not match what their PinKenya profile says, tell us and stop the booking.
Reporting a provider
If a provider is not who they claimed, has let their licence lapse, or behaved in a way that worries you, report it. We suspend a profile while we look into it rather than after.
Serious clinical concerns belong with the provider’s own council too. They can investigate and strike someone off; we can only remove them from this site.
We check credentials, not outcomes. Verification does not make PinKenya responsible for a provider’s clinical judgement, and it is not a guarantee of a result. Our terms set out who is responsible for what, and our privacy notice covers what happens to the documents a provider sends us.
