Professional Description
I am a dedicated and results-oriented Biomedical Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, preventive maintenance, user training, and technical support of a wide range of medical equipment across county referral hospitals, national referral hospitals, private medical technology companies, and a leading ophthalmology centre in Kenya. My professional journey began at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital, where I was responsible for the maintenance and management of diverse medical equipment used across various hospital departments. This role strengthened my foundation in preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, equipment performance verification, and ensuring maximum equipment uptime. I later worked at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), one of Kenya's largest referral hospitals, where I handled a broad range of medical equipment across multiple clinical departments. I collaborated with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure equipment reliability, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted clinical service delivery. Currently, I serve as a Biomedical Engineer at Eagle Eye Laser Center, Nairobi, where I specialize in the maintenance and technical management of advanced ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical equipment. I support technologies including OCT systems, fundus cameras, YAG lasers, retinal lasers, phacoemulsification machines, autorefractors, slit lamps, visual field analyzers, lensmeters, sterilization equipment, and other ophthalmology devices. My role also involves preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, equipment calibration, quality assurance, user support, and ensuring optimal performance of highly specialized ophthalmic technologies.
